In a low-scoring affair between the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and the Salem Red Sox, pitcher Dax Foster was the difference between victory and defeat. The Myrtle Beach right-hander earned kudos in the 3-2 Pelicans win. Myrtle Beach is now 26-48. Salem is 27-48.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Pelicans had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when designated hitter Bob Fuller hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Dan Bell and made the score 2-0, Pelicans.
