Starting pitcher Jimmy Stanley pitched well enough to help the Winston-Salem Dash beat the Lynchburg Hillcats, 7-3. The winner was Stanley. He threw 8.0 innings allowing 3 runs. The loser was Juan Cruz. The Dash have an impressive 53-27 record.

Winston-Salem catcher Joe Bailey contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 29th hit of the season and put the Dash ahead, 6-3.
