Frederick pitcher Sergio López had a large part in his team beating the Lynchburg Hillcats, 7-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Frederick is now 38-45, while Lynchburg is 48-35.

Frederick won the game in part because of Tony Castro. The right fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Keys ahead, 2-0. For the game, Castro had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"Sergio has got a slow heartbeat," said Frederick manager Whit Merrifield. "He doesn't panic or anything."
