Frederick and Lynchburg duked it out and the Keys came out victorious.

Frederick overcame a superior effort from Doug Bratcher to beat Lynchburg, 4-1, in 12 innings. The Lynchburg pitcher threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Nelson Castillo, now 7-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3 innings.

Frederick needed the clutch hitting of Elwiin Gelderblom to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a solo home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Keys on top, 2-1. For the game, Gelderblom had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.

Said losing manager Nick Markakis: "Obviously, we wished for a better outcome."
