The Myrtle Beach Pelicans beat the Potomac Nationals, 11-2, with major props going to center fielder Quentin Coleman. On the day, Coleman was 3 for 4 with 2 triples and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Pelicans. Willie Johnson picked up the win, improving his season record to 6-4. He struck out 9 in 5.2 innings. The Pelicans improved their record to 33-57 with the win over Potomac.
Second Baseman Bernardo Gonzáles made an impact for Myrtle Beach, when he swatted a 2-run double off Ken Harris in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, Gonzáles went 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Myrtle Beach skipper Jose Lobaton.
