Winston-Salem right fielder Ben Daugherty made his presence felt in the 5-3 Dash triumph over the Lynchburg Hillcats. Daugherty was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was top prospect Doug Beck. He tossed 85 pitches over 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. The first-place Dash have won 4 consecutive games.

It could have been a different outcome for Winston-Salem, had it not been for Te Le, the 25-year old third baseman . Le contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth inning to put Winston-Salem up, 5-3.
