Lynchburg pitcher Bert Riggs had a large part in his team beating the Salem Red Sox, 7-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winner was Riggs. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Ed Scott. The victory gives Lynchburg a record of 64-41.
