7-4 Triumph Takes Winston-Salem to 70-36
The Winston-Salem Dash beat the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 7-4, at New Winston-Salem Ballpark. Pete Sánchez was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The 23-year old center fielder was a menace to Wilmington all day. Pat Poe earned the win to go to 7-3. He allowed 4 runs on 9 hits, with no walks and 7 strikeouts in 7.1 innings of work. The Dash have an impressive 70-36 record.

Winston-Salem took a 6-4 lead on Steve Winters's 6th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Winters hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Wilmington pitcher Lou McKee visibly frustrated.

"It's always extra special to win at home," said Sánchez.
