Tight Tilt Goes to Mudcats, 4-3
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans and Carolina Mudcats left the fans buzzing.

The Carolina Mudcats did just enough to sneak past the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 4-3, at Grainger Stadium. Carolina pitcher Ron Conrad, in particular, had a standout performance. Carolina reliever Josh Olsen was the winner. His record is now 2-2. Augusto Balderas took the loss.

Carolina took a 4-3 lead on Chris Jones's 5th triple of the season. The bases-clearing triple, which Jones hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Myrtle Beach pitcher Augusto Balderas visibly frustrated.

"Ron -- I just love the competitor in him," said Mudcats manager John Cornely.

At 51-56, the Mudcats are currently third in the Southern Division.
