Lynchburg Hillcats starter Walt Ashley hurled his team past the Potomac Nationals, 6-1. With the win, Lynchburg raised its record to 67-41.

It could have been a different outcome for Lynchburg, had it not been for Jesús Rivera, the 26-year old second baseman . Rivera contributed a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put Lynchburg up, 2-0.

"Walt was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Lynchburg manager Nick Markakis.
