Potomac Beats Lynchburg, 4-3
|
Potomac right fielder Chris Sampson helped his team beat the Lynchburg Hillcats, 4-3. Sampson, who leads the CAR in bases on balls with 67, went 2 for 3 for the Nationals. By defeating Lynchburg, the last-place Nationals improved to 45-65.
In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, Sampson came to the plate. He drew a walk, driving in 1 run off Tommy Pierce to put the Nationals in the lead, 4-3.
After the game, Potomac manager Cesar Martin applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
