Frederick Dealt 4-2 Defeat

The first-place Lynchburg Hillcats picked up another win.
The Lynchburg Hillcats topped the Frederick Keys, 4-2, in Carolina League action at Ed Smith Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Lynchburg pitcher and Abbeville, South Carolina, native Bert Riggs. Ty Allen was called on to finish, recording his 5th save.
The tension was thick in the top of the sixth inning. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and Frederick trailing 4-1, Bert Riggs had to get a big out. On a 1-0 fastball, he retired Steve Stone, who flied out.
The first-place Hillcats, at 69-42, now lead their division by 11 games.
