The Wilmington Blue Rocks and Potomac Nationals played an exciting game.

The Wilmington Blue Rocks got a marvelous performance from pitcher Darryl Peters. The right-hander kept the Potomac offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-2 Wilmington victory at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. Wilmington is now 58-64.

Wilmington right fielder Jon Bates contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a cutter to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 48th hit of the season and put the Blue Rocks ahead, 3-1.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Cesar Martin.
