Behind a fine performance from José Rivera, the Winston-Salem Dash knocked off the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 8-3. Rivera hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Dash. Albert González, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 4 innings. With the victory, the Dash upped their record to 75-47.

With Winston-Salem trailing 1-0 in the top of the second, Rivera hit a fastball from Dax Foster for a 2-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Dash ahead, 2-1.
