5-Hit Game for Markakis
Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Myrtle Beach's 14-6 win over Winston-Salem, center fielder Jeff Markakis was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark.

"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Markakis said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."

Jeff Markakis singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
