Pelicans Fall to Dash Late

The Winston-Salem Dash defeated the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 7-4. Doing his part was catcher Curt Craig, who went 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Ánibal Loronha was the winner in relief. His record is now 3-0. The losing pitcher was Dan Newman. The first-place Dash, at 67-56, now lead their division by 7 games.
With Winston-Salem leading 5-4 in the top of the ninth, Craig hit a 2-run single off Myrtle Beach hurler Dan Newman. It was the 26th hit of the season for Craig and put his team ahead, 7-4.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Craig told the Winston-Salem Daily News.
