Blue Rocks 3B Barton leads offense in Win
The Wilmington Blue Rocks grabbed a win, 3-1, over the Frederick Keys at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. Wilmington designated hitter Ed Barton threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball. Picking up the save was Steve Brown. He's now 14 for 16 in save chances. Wilmington improves to 70-56 with the win. They lead their division by 5 games.

In the bottom of the fifth, Greg Lópes delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Wilmington center fielder hit a run-scoring single, putting the Blue Rocks in front, 3-1.

Afterward, Blue Rocks manager Ozzie Timmons was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
