Tight Tilt Goes to Hillcats, 4-3
|
The Lynchburg Hillcats defeated the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 4-3, in Carolina League action at Ed Smith Stadium. Lynchburg pitcher Jerry Sawyer had a standout performance. Dylan Fairchild was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 10 of 12 save opportunities. The Northern Division-leading Hillcats are 81-46.
Rhett Osborn, who is tied for 6th in the CAR in triples with 5, helped out the Lynchburg cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the center fielder drove in one run.
"Very good win for our guys," said Osborn.
