Red Sox Net 7-3 Win Over Dash
The Salem Red Sox topped the Winston-Salem Dash, 7-3, in Carolina League action at New Winston-Salem Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Salem pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Raúl Longoria. Salem reliever Dan Gore picked up the win to move to 3-4. Cristiano Rodríguez suffered the loss. The Red Sox improved their record to 49-79 with the win over Winston-Salem.

Salem used the timely hitting of Eric Thomas to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Red Sox on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Winning is hard sometimes," said Red Sox manager Jose Nieves. "This one was nice to get."
