G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the Potomac Nationals and Salem Red Sox.
Salem right fielder Jesús De Jesús helped his team beat the Potomac Nationals, 5-4. De Jesús, who is tied for 2nd in the CAR in triples with 7, went 1 for 4 for the Red Sox. The winning pitcher was Guglielmo Martini. He's now 3-3. He went 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits for the Red Sox. Bobby Louque was credited with the save, his 2nd in 8 tries.
Salem grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when De Jesús hit a 3-run home run off Bob Johnson. His 9th home run of the season put the Red Sox out in front, 5-2.
"I liked the focus, I liked the effort," said Red Sox manager Jose Nieves.
The loss makes Potomac 59-74.
