Cipriano Hernández helped his team muscle past the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 5-4. In the game, the Frederick catcher went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Ed Snow earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. He upped his record to 7-2. Picking up the save was Ken Key. He's now 12 for 15 in save chances.

Frederick took a 5-4 lead on Willie Brown's 25th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Brown hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Myrtle Beach pitcher Jeremy Clark visibly frustrated.

"If it's down the middle," said Hernández, "you might as well hit it."

With the win, the Keys have a record of 68-65.
