The Nationals grabbed a win, 5-3, at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark, overcoming a fine effort from Myrtle Beach pitcher Walt Johnson. Johnson went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Jim Matthews claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 4 innings. His record stands at 6-2.
