Starting pitcher Jon Kline took care of business, helping the Lynchburg Hillcats stifle the Salem Red Sox, 9-2. The winner was Kline. He threw 6.1 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was José Ruíz. The Lynchburg win streak is now 3 games.
In the top of the second inning of a 1-1 tie, Lynchburg center fielder Jim Sizemore reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 2 runs. It broke the deadlock and put Lynchburg on top, 3-1.
