The Carolina Mudcats picked up a win at Grainger Stadium, taking down the Winston-Salem Dash, 6-2. Starting pitcher Sergio Martínez was a big reason why. Shawn Moore sewed up the save, his 32nd. The Carolina win streak is now 3 games.

Carolina second baseman Joe Allison contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a curveball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 70th hit of the season and put the Mudcats ahead, 2-0.

Said losing manager Brent Metheny: "Obviously, we wished for a better outcome."
