Blue Rocks Fight for 8-7 Win
|
The Wilmington Blue Rocks managed to get by the Salem Red Sox, 8-7, at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. Wilmington pitcher Juan Ramírez set himself apart with his performance. Salem has now lost 6 consecutive games.
César Villaneda was the walk-off hero for Wilmington. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blue Rocks catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place went bananas," Villaneda said.
