Trenton designated hitter Jim Cobb contributed significantly to his team's 5-2 win over the New Britain Rock Cats. Cobb, who is tied for 3rd in the EL in bases on balls with 10, went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Thunder. Brandon Finnegan picked up the win, lifting his record to 1-1 on the season. He struck out 7 and walked 1 in 7 innings, while yielding 2 runs. Trenton is now 11-5.

With Trenton leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Cobb hit a fastball from Steve Nelson for a run-scoring double. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Thunder ahead, 3-1.

"We've got a great group of guys," Cobb said, "and we're having fun right now."
