The FCL Mets got a strong performance from pitcher River Porter, who stymied the FCL offense en route to a 4-1 win in Game 2 of the Round 1. The Red Sox could never get a bead on the right-handed Porter, who threw 5.0 innings allowing 1 run. The Mets now hold a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-7 series.

Don Browning, the FCL left fielder, contributed a 2-run single in the bottom of the second inning to make the score 2-0, Mets. For the game, Browning went 1 for 3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs.

Browning told the FCL News: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."

Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday at JetBlue Park.
