Fifth Third Field was the site of a competitive game between the Dayton Dragons and Lake County Captains.

The Lake County Captains beat the Dayton Dragons, 5-4, at Fifth Third Field. The Captains got a fine performance from designated hitter Steve Cobb, who went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Dylan Fairchild picked up his 1st save of the season.

Dave Bovey was 2-4 with 2 singles for Lake County. With one out and the game tied in the top of the ninth inning, Bovey had a clutch at-bat. Facing Dayton hurler Joe Hill, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Captains a 5-4 lead.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Bovey.

The loss drops Dayton to 1-1.
