The Burlington Bees had to overcome a good performance from Kane County pitcher Gil Peterson to claim a 3-1 win at Community Field. Peterson went 6.2 innings and allowed 3 runs. António Ramírez claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. His record stands at 1-0. Mike Taylor finished the game for Burlington and earned his 1st save.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Bees had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when shortstop José Ruíz hit a 2-run single. The single came off Gil Peterson and made the score 3-1, Bees. Ruíz went 1-4. He drove in 2 runs.
