Whitecaps Deal Lansing 3-1 Defeat
In a low-scoring contest between the West Michigan Whitecaps and the Lansing Lugnuts, Arsenio Pelayo was the X factor. The West Michigan left-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. The Whitecaps, now 3-0, have played some good baseball in the early going.

Joe Pettifer had a direct impact on the outcome. Pettifer contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth inning to put West Michigan up, 2-1.
