In a tight contest between the West Michigan Whitecaps and the Great Lakes Loons, António Quiñones was the determining factor. The West Michigan left-hander sparkled in his team's 2-0 win. West Michigan goes to 5-1 with the win.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when second baseman Ted Garland hit a triple. The Whitecaps went on to win.
