The Lansing Lugnuts withstood a good performance by Dayton left fielder Jorge Duarte to knock off Dayton, 7-6, in 10 innings. Duarte went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The loss drops Dayton to 3-6.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the tenth, with the game tied, Mike Nicholas was at the plate when Lansing scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Lugnuts to go in front, 7-5.

"We had a chance to win," said Dayton manager Manny Amador, "but we didn't get it done."
