Quad Cities River Bandits starter Adrián Valdés turned in a top-notch performance against the Beloit Snappers at Modern Woodmen Park. The result was a win for the River Bandits, 4-2. In 6.2 innings, Valdés surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Bob Barraclough earned the save for Quad Cities, his 4th of the year.
Kevin Hickman hit a bases-clearing triple off Mike Adams in the bottom of the fifth, which put the River Bandits in front, 3-1. Hickman had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
Hickman attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
