With 10-0 Win, River Bandits Go to 5-5
Thanks in large part to center fielder Byron Thistle, the Quad Cities River Bandits beat the Beloit Snappers, 10-0. Thistle went 1-1 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Juan Jose Disanti picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Bobby Whitfield suffered the loss. After losing, Beloit is 4-6.

Bobby O'Day had a big 2-run double for the River Bandits in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Quad Cities leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Bobby Whitfield and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the River Bandits ahead, 3-0.

In comments to the Quad Cities Today, Thistle admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
