Lugnuts Get Close Win Over Loons, 4-3
Lansing pitcher Bob Davis did his part in helping his team beat the Great Lakes Loons, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Davis picked up the win for Lansing, going 8 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Great Lakes drops to 6-6.

Had José Viera not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Viera hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Lugnuts.
