António Colón, who is rated as the 25th best prospect by BNN, imposed his will on the Chiefs from the get-go. Relying mainly on his cutter, the right-hander spearheaded the 2-0 Burlington triumph. Getting the save was Mike Taylor, his 3rd. The win has Burlington at 6-7.
Burlington took a 1-0 lead on Stan Lacrosse's 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Lacrosse hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Peoria pitcher José Vargas visibly frustrated.
"Makes our job easier," said Lacrosse, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
