Beloit Triumphs with Late Surge
|
The Beloit Snappers, behind a great outing from Bobby Whitfield, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2025 draft, defeated the Quad Cities River Bandits, 2-0, at Modern Woodmen Park. Daniel Negrón earned the save for Beloit, his 3rd. Beloit has a record of 8-8.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Joe Britten came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Quad Cities pitcher Bob Barraclough, he hit a full count fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Beloit on top, 2-0.
"I thought Bobby threw the ball well across the board," said Beloit manager Nelson Liriano.
