Cedar Rapids Kernels pitcher Jesús Vargas was in fine form, leading his team past the Beloit Snappers, 1-0. Raúl Manuel picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Jose Bautista Jr., who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2025 draft, was tagged with the loss. Josh Peterson closed the door for Cedar Rapids, picking up his 5th save of the year.

Cedar Rapids took control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, Eddie Woods hit a run-scoring single to make it 1-0, Kernels.

"If you ever get this game figured out," said Beloit manager Nelson Liriano, "let me know."

Beloit is 8-10 after the defeat.
