2-1 Win for Dayton Over South Bend
|
Rob Miller never let the Cubs get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Dragons to a win, 2-1. Juan Sánchez earned the save, his 4th. The Cubs fall to 8-10 and continue their uneven start to the 2025 season.
Dayton used the hitting of Ricky Vaughan to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Dragons on top, 2-0. For the game, Vaughan had 1 home run and 3 singles in 5 at-bats.
"Rob can pitch. He moves the ball around," said Dayton manager Manny Amador.
