The Lake County Captains picked up a win at Classic Park, knocking off the Lansing Lugnuts, 5-2. On the mound for Lake County was right-hander Ron Lyons. He played a key role in the triumph. Lyons yielded 2 runs over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 6, and struck out 10. His record improves to 3-0. The Captains, now 14-5, have hit the ground running this season.
Víctor Díaz hit a 2-run triple off Jesús Ríos in the bottom of the third, which put the Captains in front, 2-1. Díaz had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
"Ron was the difference maker. He was emotionally under control, had good stuff and makeup," said Lake County manager Chris Dwyer.
