In the 10-5 Beloit win over Peoria, the impact of Art Thompson was substantial. Thompson, who is tied for 10th in the MID in home runs with 3, went 2 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. Beloit pitcher Steve Green earned the win, hiking his record to 4-0. Bob Smith suffered the loss. Daniel Negrón earned the save for Beloit, his 3rd.

Norm O'Sullivan helped out the Beloit cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. For the game, the second baseman drew 1 walk.

"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Thompson told the Beloit Daily News.

The Snappers have hit the ground running, raising their record to 13-7. While it's still too soon to talk about Beloit hoisting their 2nd Round 2 trophy, fans are getting excited about their strong start.
