Starting pitcher Jim Cox fulfilled his part of the bargain, helping the Lake County Captains stymie the Lansing Lugnuts, 4-2. Dylan Fairchild closed out the game, earning his 4th save. Lake County goes to 15-6.

Had Curt Sorensen not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Sorensen hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Captains.

"We've got a great group of guys," Sorensen said, "and we're having fun right now."
