José Hernández pitched a gem to lead Fort Wayne to victory over the Great Lakes Loons, 7-0. Jeff Scharf earned the save for Fort Wayne, his 1st. The loss has the Loons at 10-12.

Juan Martínez had a big 3-run home run for the TinCaps in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Fort Wayne leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Phil Sparks and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the TinCaps ahead, 6-0.

"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Martínez.
