7 Straight Wins for Dragons
|
The Dayton Dragons downed the Great Lakes Loons, 7-1, at Dow Diamond. Stellar pitching by António Lara had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. Joe Hill closed out the game, earning his 2nd save. With their winning streak at 7, the Dragons have raced to a strong start this season.
Dayton used a well-timed hit by José Amalia to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Dragons ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Dayton skipper Manny Amador.
