Loons Come Back Late to Top Dragons, 3-0
In a low-scoring contest between the Great Lakes Loons and the Dayton Dragons, 26-year old left-handed pitcher Juan Ortíz proved to be the difference. The Great Lakes left-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-0 Loons win. Francis Gambetta earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 4-1. Jarrod Lane finished the game for Great Lakes and earned his 6th save.

Great Lakes took a 1-0 lead on Conan Wayland's 5th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Wayland hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Dayton pitcher Joe Johnson visibly frustrated.

"I was just trying to execute one pitch at a time," said Ortíz.

Every game is important, even these early ones, if the Loons hope to make a postseason run.
