With right fielder Coy Keller leading the charge, the Kane County Cougars defeated the Fort Wayne TinCaps, 7-4, at Parkview Field. Keller, who is tied for 7th in the MID in RBI with 16, was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs. The TinCaps, at 4-21, have stumbled out of the gate.

It could have been a different outcome for Kane County, had it not been for Ken Ladner, the 21-year old catcher . Ladner contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Kane County up, 4-2.
