Fort Wayne right fielder Charlie Chitty helped his team beat the Kane County Cougars, 6-2. Chitty, who is tied for 8th in the MID in triples with 2, went 3 for 5 for the TinCaps. Jerry Martin picked up the win in relief. Tom Schmitt took the loss for Kane County. Daniel Ávila closed it out for Fort Wayne, earning his 1st save.

Fort Wayne took a 3-2 lead on Qin-shu Jiang's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Jiang hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Kane County pitcher Steve Kelly visibly frustrated.

"It's always great to put the barrel on the ball and contribute," said Chitty.

Fort Wayne is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 5th in 27 games.
