Kernels Win, 7-3, Versus Dayton
|
Vic Rosa was a major factor in the 7-3 Cedar Rapids win over Dayton. The Kernels third baseman went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win went to Eric Mayfield in relief, making him now 1-1. Ron Carter took the loss for Dayton. The win puts Cedar Rapids at 17-11.
Rosa had a game-changing double in the top of the eighth. On a 1-0 fastball from Ron Carter, he banged a 2-run double to left, giving the Kernels a 5-3 lead. It was the 5th double of the year for Rosa.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Rosa told the Cedar Rapids Chronicle.
