Cedar Rapids pitcher Brendan Cummings had a large part in his team beating the Dayton Dragons, 8-0. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Cedar Rapids leads the Western Division by 2½ games.

Cedar Rapids third baseman Ben Jamison helped his team get ahead early. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he hit a sacrifice fly.

"It feels good to get this one," Cummings told the Cedar Rapids Chronicle.
