Loons Roll to 8-3 Win Over River Bandits
The Great Lakes Loons powered past the Quad Cities River Bandits, 8-3, at Dow Diamond. Whit Bruce went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2, to lead the charge. The winning pitcher was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Ramsey. He tossed 106 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 3 hits. Great Lakes is 16-16 and Quad Cities, with the loss, 15-17.

The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Bruce hit a 2-run home run off Juan Zobrist. It propelled the Loons into the lead, 5-3.

"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Bruce told a Great Lakes Daily News reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
