The Great Lakes Loons topped the Quad Cities River Bandits by a score of 6-3. Leading the way was left fielder Greg Henderson. Henderson was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Loons. Ben Crews was the winner. He's now 1-0. The loser was 20-year old right-handed pitcher Juan Saucedo. Jarrod Lane closed the game out for Great Lakes, earning his 8th save.

The Loons got a big at-bat from shortstop Jorge Rivera. For the game, Rivera went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Great Lakes a 6-3 lead.

"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Great Lakes manager Emilio Bonifacio.
