The Beloit Snappers beat the Fort Wayne TinCaps, 5-2. Beloit pitcher and Cambita Garabitos, Dominican Republic, native Dani Mendoza led the way. Tim Hilton earned save number 1 this season. With the victory, the Snappers upped their record to 19-14.

Beloit used a well-timed hit by Phil Shepherd to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Snappers ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 1 at-bat, it was important.

"We did a lot of things right," said Mendoza.
